Fostering Beauty, Sharing Hope
That compassion—Christ’s compassion—is bringing restoration and hope to the lives of women, their families and their communities through Women’s Fellowship.
On June 3 last year, 80 women gathered at Pastor Jair’s church in Nepal for a day of fellowship and encouragement from God’s Word. They came from five different local churches, but each woman had at least one thing in common: She was a part of her local Women’s Fellowship.
Women’s Fellowship groups meet in local churches across the mission field, gathering regularly for prayer, teaching and service to their communities. In many areas where we serve, women are often treated as inferior members of their families or communities. But Christ is bringing restoration and beauty to these women as they find purpose and hope in His love.
At the June meeting in Nepal, Pastor Jair encouraged the women to follow boldly in the footsteps of saints such as Mother Teresa. Sister Mya, the Women’s Fellowship leader for that area, also encouraged the sisters, sharing about the power women have to pass faith on to the next generation.
As women across the mission field come to understand their God-given dignity and worth, they also learn to thrive as wives, mothers and daughters. Women’s Fellowship leaders like Mya make sure that the women in their churches receive training on essential, and sometimes neglected, topics such as hygiene, child-rearing and literacy.
In August 2025, the Women’s Fellowship hosted another event in Nepal, this time welcoming 100 women from local Women’s Fellowship groups. During the meeting, Mya taught on the importance of breastfeeding, helping equip mothers to care for themselves and their babies. Through such practical training, the restoration and beauty of Christ’s love extends beyond the women to touch their families as well.
But the impact doesn’t stop there. Women’s Fellowship sisters also take the hope they’ve experienced and share it with others in their communities—raising money to help those in need, sharing Christ with their neighbors, helping with church events or visiting widows and people with disabilities.
In Mya’s area, Women’s Fellowship sisters observed International Women’s Day by visiting a home for kids with physical and mental disabilities. The women served the kids cake and a hot meal and donated food, diapers, soap and clothes. The caretaker of the home was deeply grateful, not just for the practical help, but also for the love shown by the women. “Thank you for coming and showing us compassion,” she told the sisters.
That compassion—Christ’s compassion—is bringing restoration and hope to the lives of women, their families and their communities through Women’s Fellowship. As these sisters both experience and extend Christ’s love, He lifts the downtrodden, transforms families and communities and works beauty in the lives of those who need hope!
